Examination
Your tooth will be examined, so we can make sure the damage is not too advanced for a veneer. In serious cases of damage, decay and infection, root canal treatment, followed by a crown, may be the most suitable course of action.
Preparing your tooth
Some of your tooth tissue is removed from the tooth in question, to create space for the veneer to fit over the front surface. This ensures the veneer is the optimal thickness amongst your existing teeth. This is carried out under local anaesthetic. Your dentist here in Blackwood will then take impressions of your tooth and those adjacent to it.
This information is then sent to the dental technician, who creates a veneer that is perfectly contoured to correspond with your existing teeth, and your natural tooth shade.
Fitting your veneer
A strong adhesive cement is used to secure your veneer in place. With good care and by making sure your veneer doesn’t come into contact with foreign objects (ice and pens are particular perpetrators!), your veneer has the potential to last more than a decade.
